Hi, I'm Kayla

I create digital learning experiences that blend education, technology, and emerging AI tools. Drawing from my background in education and front-end development, I focus on designing accessible, engaging experiences that help learners feel supported, capable, and connected.

About

Who I Am: I'm a learning experience designer with a background in education and front-end development, with a Master's in education technology and instructional design. My work sits at the intersection of learning theory, technology, and user experience. My focus is on creating accessible, engaging learning that actually supports how people learn in real life.

My Process: I start with learners first. What do they need, what challenges them, and what makes information meaningful instead of overwhelming? From there, I design with clarity and structure in mind, blending instructional strategy with interactive and visual design. I also integrate front-end development skills and AI-supported tools when they enhance the learning experience.

What Can We Accomplish: The goal is always the same, learning that feels intuitive, supportive, and effective. Whether it's onboarding, training, or interactive simulations, I aim to create experiences that help people understand faster, retain more, and feel confident applying what they've learned.

Anything, Everything, and More: I am especially interested in how emerging tools like AI can enhance instructional design workflows and learner engagement when used thoughtfully. Outside of design work, I enjoy building, experimenting, and continuously learning new tools and approaches that help bridge education and technology in more meaningful ways.
